Madalyn Murray O'Hair was born on April 13, 1919. She was an atheist. An antheist is a person who doesn't believe in God. She founded an organization called American Atheists. She was the president until 1986 when one of her sons took over. His name was Jon Garth Murray. Mrs. O'Hair is known for a landmark court case that ended Bible reading and prayer in American public schools in 1963. In 1964, Life magazine called her "the most hated woman in America". In 1995, Mrs. O'Hair and her son Jon Murry, and granddaughter Robin Murray O'Hair was kidnapped, murdered, and their bodies mutilated by the former office manager at American Atheist, David Roland Waters. She died on September 29, 1995.
